Abstract

|
Senile sebaceous hyperplasia represents a benign enlargement of a normal sebaceous gland which is preponderant in older individuals.
The lesions are single or multiple small creamy to yellowish papules or nodules, and may show lobulation or small central umbilication, having predilection for the forehead, cheeks and temples.
We experienced a case of senile sebaceous hyperplasia developed in 49 years old man.
The biopsy specimen showed a single enlarged sebaceous gland with numerous sebaceous lobules which connected with central wide sebaceous duct. Most sebaceous gland lobules appeared fully matured, but some showed more than one peripheral row of undifferentiated, germinative cells.
Several Iarge papules were treated with electrodessication for cosmetic problem.
